    Zoloft reviews for ocd

Zoloft is one of the many trade names under which Sertraline is marketed, perhaps the most popular on the market. The drug is marketed as a treatment for conditions such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The manufacturing company, Pfizer, is a renowned multinational pharmaceutical company, based in New York City, U. It is also used for treating premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and social anxiety disorder. The manufacturer claims the effectiveness of the drug for each condition was demonstrated in clinical studies (placebo-controlled studies in adult outpatients). Zoloft is a prescription drug and is associated with a series of serious side effects. It is advised that, before going under treatment, patients inform their healthcare providers about any other medicines they are taking (prescription and non-prescription), vitamins, and herbal supplements. The drug may interact with them, and thus may not work as well or may cause serious side effects. Zoloft contains the active ingredient Sertraline hydrochloride and other inactive ingredients: dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, colorants, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, sodium starch glycolate, synthetic yellow iron oxide (in 100 mg tablet), and titanium dioxide. •coma •seizures •delirium •hallucinations •high blood pressure (hypertension) •fainting •loss of life. To take charge of ocd, the gold standard is exposure & response prevention. Lowering the dose of Lexapro (escitalopram) could increase anxiety, especially if it was done too quickly. Always discuss dosing with the prescribing phsyician and remember cbt for OCD is extremely helpful alone or in combination with medications such as zoloft (sertraline). Typically Zoloft (sertraline) and the other SSRI's cause insomnia (do not take before bedtime), but paradoxically, they can also cause somnolence, sleepiness and a feeling of the blahs- like your emotional spectrum is narrowed. But if what you're asking is whether or not it's SAFE to take ADDERALL (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) with all the other medications or whether or not it's really NECESSARY for to take ADDERALL (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) given the rest of the drugs you're taking then, that discussion should really be with your prescribing doctor. Hey all, Also posted this to /r/Anxiety. Has anybody here ever been prescribed Zoloft aka Sertraline for GAD/OCD type symptoms? Looping. Aug 10, 2016. Prozac and Zoloft are drugs used to treat depression and other conditions. It's also used to treat OCD in children who are 7 years or older. Zoloft sertraline "While Zoloft did alleviate some OCD symptoms, it made me very hypomanic. It was not fun-- my thoughts were racing so badly and I said very.

It almost totally alleviated all of my OCD symptoms. I had been on Prozac for about 9 years and it was wonderful. Well, I was incredibly stupid and thought I no longer needed medication and weaned off of Prozac last October. Needless to say, my OCD came back full force (worse this time around) in March of this year. Well, after a try on Lexapro which made me tired and more depressed I went back on Prozac. I started on 20 mg eight weeks ago, went up to 40 mg six weeks ago, and now have been on 60 mg for 2 1/2 weeks. The last time I was on Prozac 40 mg the entire time. Sometimes I feel like I am feeling better and at other times I feel awful. I know increasing the dose brings increased anxiety, etc., but should I wait with the 60 mg for an extended period of time or do you think Prozac is not working for me this time???? I know the meds work because it worked for 9 years. It is important to note that many psychoactive medications are not likely to help OCD symptoms, but that a number of partially-effective drugs have now been carefully evaluated. OCD is usually treated with a combination of specific behavioral therapies, called exposure and response prevention, and medications. Professor of Psychiatry Harvard Medical School Chairman, OC Foundation Scientific Advisory Board Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a potentially devastating illness that can result in considerable social and economic disability for both patients and their family members. The treatment, however, for most OCD patients should involve the combination of behavior therapy with medications. This article will focus on medications, but that is not meant to diminish the importance of behavior therapy. The majority of the drugs that help OCD are classified as antidepressants. It is important to note that depression commonly results from the disability produced by OCD, and that doctors can treat both the OCD and depression with the same medication.

Im a 25 year old male and iv taken Zoloft about two years ago for my social anxiety and it worked for about a month then did the complete opposite and made me more nervous then before. Also i recently tried Lexapro and the first day i took it, it was unbearable for me, it made me extremely nervous and scared to the point that i couldn't communicate or socialize with anyone because of it. im not so much depressed but my anxiety around others is terrible. iv just been proscribed effexor and before i take it i want to make sure that it wont make me feel like lexapro made me feel like. Zoloft is an ssri, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. That means it increases one of the chemicals in your brain that keeps you from being depressed and/or anxious. but every time i take these drugs i get extremely nervous and that's the problem im trying to resolve. Effexor is an snri, a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, meaning it increases both the chemicals in the brain that do this. i feel like when i try and mess with my serotonin levels it ends up doing the opposite and makes me super nervous.
